This project is for my sister's real estate website. The following are samples of a translucent parallax element to clearly state the sale of the property featured on the slideshow.
Simple combination of typography and subtle ornaments. Did not explore fonts outside my system at the time (using Futura).
Second take: I thought the call for attention should be the For Sale stamp. My initial sketch with this approach left too much negative space to fill the inner circle shape I wanted until I thought of using a graphic. (Also, I found Futura LT which includes more weights.) The supposed icon (described below) ended up too detailed so it's a work in progress. Also the 'For Sale!' text is now protruding out of the inner circle which was my original goal but it's placed lower than the vertical center to make room for the icon. But more importantly the visual hierarchy of information is in order.
Just lines and rectangles and a few curves in the center. I ended up moving the bottom half of the building off center to add perspective which technically skews it by breaking away from the grid. It's too late for irony. I'm going to bed.
Keeping the listing site active even though the property was sold to showcase the web presentation of future listings.
